    Every 40,000 miles ? There was a thread knocking about last week and someone said 40k if i remember correctly. Best to ask a mechanic or even just google it as Else said.

    Every 40k was the earlier astra G models.

    The astra H models its every 150,000 kms or 10 years but the 1.2 and 1.4(most common in Ireland) are chain driven.

    OP hasn't given the engine details....engine size, car year, petrol/diesel?
