Coffee Machine

Another thread looking for advice on buying a coffee machine I'm afraid,

I'm thinking on buying one but I don't want to spend a fortune on one either since I'm the only one in the house that drinks the stuff, >€100, I was looking at some of the cheaper De Longhi espresso presses online and I like the idea of being able to make a decent cappuccino/espresso but are they any good for making your everyday, run of the mill cup of coffee?, I imagine you could make an espresso and then add more boiling water but would this give you a real caffee americano i.e. more bitter than a "normal" coffee? And so would a filter coffee maker be better in that regard?

Any and all advice would be appreciated as I'm quite lost at the moment and not used to much more than instant coffee

Have you got a grinder? Maybe get a grinder and an aeropress or even a moka?
