    HI,

Just wondering if anyone can help me on this one. I went to my local tax office on Monday to tell them I was starting work part time, to sort out my tax credits, as I havent worked for a year. When they checked the system my husbands tax credits on the PAYE instead of having a credit for €1830 (I think that the fig) it had my PAYE credit in as well making it €3660.
How this happened I do not know!!
The lady said that it be ok, that there a security thing on the system that he wouldnt have got this credits.
He got paid today- and we were left with very little!! Revenue had reduced his tax credits and he was taxed around €600 on one weeks wages!!
I went into revenue, and they said its to recoup the PAYE credit he shouldnt have got, but it shouldnt have come out in one go. they said they ammended it and it would be rectify next week, and he will continue to pay more tax.
Does anyone know how much of an overpayment he would have recieved in these tax credits???
Completely stressed out over it all! And how could the tax credit ammend itself for double the figure is should be!!
    Thanks
