14 Year Old Boy Arrested For Rape In Dublin

    Friday June 24 2011
    A 14-year-old boy is being questioned over an alleged rape.
    The boy was arrested in Dublin last night following allegations that a 15-year-old girl was raped at a teenage disco last night.
    He is being held at Terenure Garda station and is accompanied by his parents.
    Gardai were called to the Tramco nightclub in Rathmines last night after the girl alleged she had been raped in the toilets.
    A disco was being held in the club for Junior Cert students, who were celebrating the end of their exams .There was no alcohol on sale at the premises.
    The girl was taken to the sexual assault unit at the Rotunda hospital.

    Alleged being the word.

    Not saying this happened but keep an open mind that she probably had too much to drink, led him on and then didn't like it afterwards.

    This is shocking if this is a genuine case and she was forced into the bathroom without consenting to. However I'm not entirely convinced if that's true.

    Teen rape, hardly an epidemic? Irrespective of consent, it'd still be treated as rape, albeit statutory. Let's just hope that the girl is okay.
