Tuning in Irish Channels

    Hi,

I need some advice please. I’m living in an apartment and when I first moved in I randomly had the Irish TV stations, ITV2, film 4 and some other channels like true movies. I was able to get these just by plugging in the TV.

I recently got Sky + installed as there is a shared dish in the building and then I got like a free view box for the bedroom. The thing is I can no longer get RTE or any of the Irish stations through the tv, I have tried tuning in the stations on the tv but it keeps saying no channels found. Maybe I’m wrong but I thought TV’s could automatically pick up the Irish stations regardless of Sky or Freeview.

A friend suggested I try an indoor aerial, but I’m really not sure what I need. Can anyone suggest what I would need to do to get the Irish stations in the bedroom?

    Many thanks.

if you have sky you should have rte1 on 101.

    when was it installed?

if its for the tv in the bedroom (the one with a freesat box) you will have to plug in an aerial to that tv.

    Hi,
Yeah I have RTE in the sitting room with the Sky box but not in the bedroom with the free sat box. If neither of the boxes are turned on there are no stations coming through the analogue stations. So do you think if I got some sort of indoor aerial I might be able to get RTE in the bedroom?

    yup,

you could run a cable from the back of the sky box into the bedroom tv, then when in bed you can watch what is on the sky box.
