Do the window pillars come as a separate assembly to the door itself?

Try www.partfinder.ie Submit a request and see if you get something there.

tried partfinder on numerous occassions but no luck.
Yes they can be bought seperately but I could only find them in the states..
And postage is like 70 euro..
Considering the part only costs 20 euro...

Have you tried BMW here for a price?

most breakers would rather sell the whole door, even of the bit that's damaged can be separated from it

Your only going to get the whole door here.

But surely thats easy there are so many 318i's around .

Tiesto do you know if you can remove that? I am nearly sure you can, I had a E39 520 with the same problem and I was able to just replace the damaged piece.

    thanks for the responses.

I didnt try BMW here as I'm confident I would have to pay well over the odds..

ronaneire : Yes it can be removed.. Thats why im looking for just the replacement piece and not a full door..

Thanks Hal, will check out donedeal & Adverts

TBH I find this a bit odd. It would be one of my first port of calls. You have no idea of what it costs in a BMW garage so how do you know if you are getting a good deal elsewhere? Why own a BMW if you don't even ring them up for a price for parts? It may be dear but then again it may not and you'll be waiting a long long time to get one off done deal and the likes.

I'm well aware of the BMW garages charging well over the odds.

While they may very well charge over the odds, it's no harm checking! I had to get a clutch last year and the original one from BMW only cost a few euro more than one from the motor factors.

A lot of the special tools are cheaper to buy from BMW than the kits produced by Laser and Sealey, etc.
