    Hi everyone,
I'm a new member here. Just wondering has any one had any dealings with filling out the NC5 application form for a wind turbine? We have a 500KW wind turbine to connect but there seems to be alot in the form to fill out that does'nt seem relevant to a single 500kw connection. Do you need a dynamic model and show the short circuit calculations or would anyone have an example of a completed form? Any information would be of great help.:)

This is a bit out of my league, but since nobody else has replied, I will chip in.

As far as I know, there is no mid-range application process in Ireland. You either fit in with EN50438 for turbines up to 25A single phase, or 16A 3 phase, or you are in the wind farm arena.

I don't know of any procedure for other mid-scale wind turbines, even in the 20Kw range.

I would ask the good folks in Dundalk Institute how they got their one hooked up. It is about 600Kw as far as I know. It is the only example I know of where there is a single machine of that size.

Another smaller example is a 50Kw turbine at Gurteen Agricultural College in Tipperary.

I would recommend you contact the Tipperary Energy Agency www.tea.ie. They have worked on a number of large scale turbine installations.
