There's an app you go through, rather than going directly through youtube.

There was recently a mods discussion on topics like this. General word from up above is that, while discussing VPN/proxy/etc is fine, specifically helping users to circumvent geo/licensing restrictions is not.

Edit: My mistake, 4OD is actually available here.

ye there is a 4od app, however the one thing to note is that it seems to only contain their own shows, imported shows like how I met your mother etc don't seem to be on it

I know you're being facetious, because it's explained in my previous post:

4OD isn't available through the Youtube App, only on Youtube itself through a computer. Channel 4 don't have a mobile app yet either, only one of the iPad as said already.
