Just a possible warning to anyone out there with a 9.0 BC contact lens prescription thinking of ordering Acuvue Trueye daily disposables online.

I ordered these from a website I used before, however they sent me out this email after posting my order:
Every contact lens has it's own standard base curve and diameter. Even though these numbers vary from lens to lens, it makes very little if any difference in most cases when customers switch from one disposable contact lens to another. This is because disposable contact lenses are so thin and soft.

The manufacturers of 1-Day Acuvue TruEye recommend the newer 8.5 base curve as the first choice for contact lens wearers. The newer 1-Day Acuvue TruEye 8.5 base curve has a higher fitting success than the 1-Day Acuvue TruEye 9.0 base curve and fits almost 100% of the 9.0 base curve wearers.

This means that all customers who wore the 9.0 base curve can wear the new 8.5 base curve successfully and happily even though the 'numbers' for the base cure is slightly different.

Further to the above, we only keep the 1-Day Acuvue TruEye 8.5 base curve in stock. To facilitate faster delivery time we have shipped your order to you in the newer 8.5 base curve.

I'm not totally happy with these 8.5 versions. Going to try to get a 9.0 version to compare - the fact that a 9.0 version seems to be available (in Europe at least) makes the above email sound a bit odd.

If your Optician recommended you wear 9.0 BC lenses then your right you shold stick to 9.0 BC. There is a difference between 8.5 and 9.0 BC as regards, fit, movement and tightness of the lens on the cornea.
