Really stupid question probably but I'm learning to drive, have been driving fine no problem but only realising now the format of the exam!!! As in, I need to know more theory to do with rules of the road, and then there's the questions about checking the oil etc.

Anyway, I'm on the rules of the road website now and just wondering what questions they ask on the test. Can they be questions from any of the 7 sections on this website http://www.rulesoftheroad.ie/ ?

Seems an awful lot of reading to do :o:(

Technically, you need to know all of the RotR if you are driving a car! There is no exhaustive list that they can use for test questions, but they have 'favourites' and ones that get asked often, which are on this list:

    http://drivingtesttips.ie/Irish-Driving-Test-Questions.php
(also check the road signs section of that website, and learn the road signs in the RotR book - they get asked in addition to the theory questions).

But if your test isn't in a few days, it would be wise to peruse the RotR book - you'll get through it faster than you think!

Yeah I'd advise spending an hour a day for a 4 or 5 days just slowly going through it. You'll definitely pick up things you won't have known.

I got the CD, I found it a much better way to learn than wading through the book.
