    i just started a fas training course last week and i had to leave early 1 day and was late another and was docked 30 euros and now i am only being paid 155 euros for the week my friend told me that i cant be paid less then what i would make on the dole is true ?

    Yes its true fas will match what Social Welfare (SW) pay you. However if you miss days and can't go in your deducted. It doesn't matter what you get in SW then. So Fas are perfectly entitled to dock you the 30 euro for the day and you will get less than what you usually get.

    Its a condition of your course to go in everyday and any day you miss you can and will be deducted for.

    You will be docked from your FAS payment (although this can be appealed administratively within FAS if you dispute it)

    You can apply to the Community Welfare Officer to be topped up to the SWA rate, although for isolated days you may decide that its not worth your while.

    FÃS are entitled to dock your allowance for time missed. However you are ENTITLED to claim all deducted monies back. Save all FÃS payslips and produce them to social welfare office.. as part of your undertaking to attend a training course you should NOT be out any money. Do not take no for an answer on this. It is your right to get this money back. More people need to kick up a fuss...
