A WOMAN IN Russia came back to life at her own funeral only to then suffer a heart attack and die as a result of discovering she was being prepared for burial.

The Daily Express reports that Fagilyu Mukhametzyanov, 49, had been wrongly declared deceased by doctors after she collapsed at home. Her devastated husband and relatives were lining up to file past her coffin and pay their respects when the woman is reported to have woken up.

She is said to have screamed when she realised what was happening. She was immediately rushed back to the hospital but lived for only another few minutes before she died again, this time for good. The hospital says an investigation is underway. Mukhametzyanov’s distraught husband says he wants answers

I used to have a teacher you'd tell us that he'd "Kill you to death, and when you wake up the shock of being dead will kill you". Never thought it would ever actually happen though. Looks like I was wrong.

I've actually read a similar story, apparently the woman jumped out of the coffin and started running, only to be hit by a car and killed!

See its stories like this one that will make sure my family are told to insist on a autopsy for me. All my innards will be in a plastic bag so no fear of this happening.

I'd say she died of shock after realising
she was wearing the same outfit as the women.

Imagine having to fork out for two funerals for the same person.

apparently this is actually a lot more common than people think. Its why a lot of people insist on being cremated. I dont know how but apparently people can literally come back from the dead (i.e heart stops and then starts beating again a few days later)

Not for anyone who had already started spending whatever she'd left them in her will.

It is better to have come back from the dead and die, than never to have come back from the dead at all. Or so they say.

Have the doctors called it a miracle yet? I remember reading about a couple of similar stories and in both cases it was deemed a miracle by doctors. I think it's their way of refusing liability for fcuking up.

No embalming or similar in Russia after being declared dead by a doctor?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 334 ✭✭B_Fanatic

The doctors made a grave mistake!

Edit: Dam, looks like the adjective/pun 'grave' was already used.

In Ireland at least, cant speak for other countries.
You will have your organs removed and your blood flushed out and replaced with embalming fluid.

Trust me you wont be waking up in no coffin

I love the bit in the report that says ‘she died again, this time for good’.

Beat me to it, she must have some constitution to have survived being embalmed.

Or more likely, this was sourced from pravda.ru.

Well I think I'd rather wake up in a funeral home with people filing past than in an oven wondering why my ass feels so hot.
There is a condition though where the 'inflicted' have the all the traits of a dead un,only to wake later in perfect health. There was a case recently in the UK I believe. Does anyone know if embalming is done to everyone who dies in Ireland or is it just in particular circumstances, fear of ripeness etc?
