Contact lenses are uncomfortable and dry my eyes out?

I don't know why, but my eyes are constantly made dry and uncomfortable by contacts. They frequently give me double vision and even when they're definitely in correctly my vision is still quite blurred! I've tried a few different brands but get basically the same result every time. I put them in and after about 2 hours I have to take them out, or in some case they seem to force themselves out.

Anyone have the same problem, or know of any good, comfortable contacts that don't cost a fortune?

    Thanks :)

Best bet for you is to revisit your Optician and explain your symptoms. They are in the best position to help you out.

Try using eye drops for contact lens wearers . They help keep your the lenses moist and thus increase comfort

Could be something as simple as the particular brand you're using. Knock into your local optician and they'll let you know for sure!

Hi OP, mine done the same at the start, i went back to my optician and they tried to take the contacts back off me:(.. I had still a good few pairs of contacts left at home so i kept using them.. Went back to following month to get a repeat perscription and anf thank god they gave them to me!!!

As for being uncomfortable- i found that i have the contact in the wrong way around which is really uncomfortable.

As for dry eyes - i use opti-mist, you just spray on you eyelind, works for me

Hi, I used to have this problem with lenses - the solution was to use more oxygenating lenses. I think they work by allowing more oxygen into your eyes than standard lenses and this helps prevent dryness. The ones I was given most were O2 Optix lenses. They were more expensive than the standard lenses but worth it. I only had problems with dryness - never had the double vision you mention so maybe get checked out.
