Poor Sound on some DVD's

    Hi all..
I have an older but perfectly functioning IBM T30 laptop. One particular problem I have is that the sound on some DVD's is really low... CD's play fine as do some DVD's.. video from the internet is fine. About 50% of DVD's have low volume which is a real pain..

Running Win XP and all SP's have been updated.
Under Device Manager it shows all devices as working properly..
    It has "SoundMAx" installed

    Help would be very welcome..

I'd suggest first reinstalling the sound driver. Check the PC manufacturers website and check if their is any update available for the driver.
