Volkswagen RCD310 radio - Fader option lost

I'm driving a 2008 VW Passat which has the original RCD310 MP3 radio system installed - the basic one - with just AUX-IN option in compartment between front seats.
I was recently attempting to change the Fader setting from the Sound menu on the system but noticed that it was missing from the options (usually has treble, middle, bass, balance and fader options available) and mysteriously disappeared.
The car also has after-market bluetooth Parrot handsfree kit installed.
Would appreciate any help or advice in retrieving this setting.

    Thanks.

Colm, i presume by that you mean it's VAGCOM job? would it be usual for it to have just dropped and lost the setting like that? Thanks.
