Sky movies added to package without our knowledge

    Hi,
i hope this is the right forum. Currently my sky movies plan is movies package 2 plan which includes Sky comedy / thriller / action / sci - horror and indie. We didnt want to get the entire movie package for financial reasons.

however on tuesday i noticed by pure accident that all the sky movies, both packages and sky premier / showcase were added and also disney cine. I only have my current package marked as favourites so i have no idea how long these have been on our plan.

The problem is when i phoned sky to get them removed i spoke to FOUR different call centre staff who had foreign accents and hadnt a clue what i was talking about, they quite simply didnt understand me. They all kept me on the phone four about twenty minutes before simply cutting me off. I am absolutely dreading the phone bill.

I decided to email my complaint to sky instead, which i did and i receive an automated response which informed me that they would contact me within 24 hours, which they havent.

Has anyone else had experience of this? and are they going to charge me for the full Movies package? any feedback would be greatly appreciated.

the sooner UPC comes to rural meath the better!

Have you just recently got sky? As far as I know when you first sign up you get every channel for about a month or so and going by your post, I get the impression you have not receieved ANY bill yet which gives me the impression your a new subscriber

If you are a new subscriber you will get 3 months for half price so your bill will be low-Word of warning, make sure to cancel what you don't want soon, as you have to give 31 days notice. The best time I find to phone Sky is in the mornings.

we have sky for 10 years or so, we used to have all sky movies until 2008 and we opted for the sky package 2 back then, its very strange!

Pretty sure theres a free movie thing on at the moment, once you have single movies, you get dual movies turned on until a specific date.

Its not one of the ones where you gotta ring in to upgrade/cancel , there not even on ur package, but coming through free.

You should have had a letter.

It's part of the Sky 'Better Effect' campaign. If you had one half of the movies package, they are giving you the other half free until the end of July.

According to the letter I received, it's a little thank you from Sky, and they will cancel the channels at the end of July.

So don't worry, you shouldn't be billed!

Some strange misinformation in this thread,Sky are only doing 3 months half price movies for new customers. The op is a long term customer and upgraded their package to include half of the movie channels(no special offers there)
Good to see they got it sorted and a deal as some kind of apology.

Incorrect, As stated previously Sky are doing a free movie pass for everyone until a certain date. If you have single movies pack, u will get the second movie pack free.

Regardless if your active 1 day or a long serving customer.

Absolute rubbish !!!! I have UPCmmds for the past year and I can categorically say that it is well on a par with $ky. Other family members in different parts of the country have it as well and have no complaints.Vast majority of people that have UPC are very happy with the service. Just the few posters on boards seem to have an agenda against mmds:(

No agenda against MMDS,the service is poor compared to satellite be it Sky or Freesat/FTA.
Anyone I spoke to that had it ended up changing to satellite due to MMDS being so bad with poor picture quality and constant interruptions in service.

By the way you spelt Sky wrong again, you really should get your keyboard checked.:D

They must be ex Chorus mmds customers. Ex NTL mmds areas have a far better service. The package I have from UPC costs €67 & would cost over €100 from $ky. UPC 1 $ky 0.:D:D:D
