Steps to unlock SIM card with white screen.... PLEASE HELP!!

Alright.... So this seams like an easy enough topic.. However, I have some serious issues that have arisen.

    So here the deal.

My sleep button quit working. So I pulled the front glass off to take a look and see if there was something going on. Shortly after that I got the white screen of death...

So I hooked it up to iTunes to do a reset and put it back. Well, it worked... temporarily. After I tried to sync the phone (mainly the apps) it restarted with all normal images in the boot process... Once it came back up there was nothing but white screen again. So I'm convinced there's some software somewhere causing this problem. I've read a few places that it's the new iOS... but I dunno.

Anyhow, it seems that it would be easy just to restore it again, but somehwere along the line it has locked the SIM card... and I can't see the screen to unlock it.

So, here's what I'm asking for...

Does anyone know how to restore the phone without inputting any SIM informatio? If not then...

Can someone show me the screen images for the whole process?

I can eyeball the button locations... i just don't know the screen order... so if anyone has screen shots it would be awesome...

Thanks in advance, any help is appreciated!!!

You can unlock the card in another phone, fairly handy to do. I'd do that and then see how you get on. A white screen is very odd though given your getting everything else ok in the boot.

Well, the phone has been activated before... I just started getting the white screen, did the restore and everything worked fine until I tried to sync it.

I'm not sure what you mean by unlocking it on another phone. Every time you remove the SIM you have to re-enter the pin. This is pretty much what has happened. So now iTunes doesn't recognize it.

Thanks for the reply though. I'll see if I can figure out what you're talking about.

You can unlock the sim and disable the PIN lock by putting the SIM card in a different phone, in Nokia's its under Security if I remember right. As far as I know iTunes expects the SIM not to have a PIN code activated. Might be the problem.

    YOU'RE A G0* DANG GENIUS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I unlocked it on my wifes Nokia, iTunes recognized it and I restored to before all this crap went down...

THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU!!

I'm still at a loss as to why it works fine now, but originally seemed doomed to a life as a brick. I don't know where the white screen came from...

Well, this sure made my day. I cannot believe it!

    Thank you again!

    Just a quick update...

I tried once again to sink my apps to the phone and got the white screen again...

This time I'm going to go through the App store and re-download them all...

Surely there is something amiss here and I'm bound to figure it out one way or another

No worries. Glad you got it somewhat sorted. Is the phone jailbroken or unoffically unlocked? If not, I'd suspect a hardware issue.

    Well, sort of another update...

I can restore it all the time, but it continues to revert to the white screen. Never lasting past the sync. I'm really not sure what's going on.

No it isn't jailbroken or unlocked. Still a T-Mobile system phone.

I was going to try going back to the 4.3.2 iOS, but my sleep button no longer functions so I can't reset the phone manually.

    Any other ideas on this?

    Thanks again!
