Honda Help - Warning Light

    Hi,

    Need some help please...

I have two warning lights coming on in my S2K.. 00' with 75k miles on the clock.

One is the yellow engine light and I believe this is got to do with my decat pipe being changed - put in an aftermarket pipe and I think the O2 sensor needs updating. Not that worried about this one as car is running absolutely fine.

The second is, I think, got to do with the handbrake. Its an exclamation mark in a circle - all red. This comes on after starting the car and stays on for a period of time. It does go off after while. Going over bumps sometimes turns it back on which leads me to believe its some sort of fluid problem/lack/leakage somewhere. I have trawled the net and service manuals and have not been able to find anything. (Brakes are working fine, car is running absolutely fine.)

The car is driving fine and I am leaving it into the tuning factory next week for a service but just trying to find out what might be the cause - anyone have any idea's?

    Thanks,

    P.

The handbrake looking thing is more than likely the brake fluid.

How to read the error codes on an S2000
    http://www.modifry.com/freebies/old/dtc/index.htm

Call down the house this evening if you want me to take a look.

I don't believe that a decat should throw an error code unless a sensor was damaged or disconnected while fitting the decat.

I run a decat on an ODB2 Honda with no issues and so do allot of other people.

In many cars the handbrake light also indicates low brake fluid, so that would be my guess as well. I think it does on my Honda although I've not actually seen it in action.

I've de-catted my current car and previous cars and just removed the bulb from the dash to resolve that error light! :D

    Lads,

Thanks for the replies, much appreciated. As you can probably tell, my technical knowledge of cars extends far enough to know that the wheels go round and round, round and round, round and round.... :D

Jimmy, really appreciate that offer and would gladly have taken you up on it if I'd logged in and seen it! Where are you based? I'm around Ashtown/Blanch, not sure if thats anywhere near you even?

Again, cheers for the replies - Must check the fluid level and see what the story is!

    Ta,

    Z

I'm living with Max in Kiliney and you still have not figured out who I am. ;)
I'm working in citywest and always have break fluid in the car.

After chatting to someone yes decats set off the dash engine check light on s2000.

Next investment http://www.hondata.com/s2000kpro.html or a cheap o2 simulator Or pull the bulb as a free fix.
