There are a lot of parallels to be drawn with SAAB's current mess and the downfall of MGR

It sounds like it was a genuinely good car. What are these yokes like to drive anyway- say compared to a 406 of that era?

I think it was ahead of its time in that it was retro-chic before retro-chic was in fashion.

It was possibly pitched a little too high, also.

Doesn't sound like BMW were taking too kindly to the union rat infested production facilities!

When I left my car in to be fitted with an alarm, they gave me a Rover 75 until the next day. I found it an awful car to drive. It was probably a very low spec one but just found it dull and slow.

In saying that, the only other saloon size car I've driven from around that year (02-03) was a 1.8 Laguna, which I thought was a much nicer drive :o
