    Hi

My laptop hdd died so I bought a new one and installed it. However I don't have the vista recovery or inatallation cd's to re-boot the machine.

Can anyone help me out with what to do with this? Would anyone have a copy of Vista on a disk that I could borrow as I have the licence key so only need the disk to reload it.

    Any other advice?

I want to run windows so not interested in other OS suggestions. Thanks

sorry dude. But your key is only valid for vista copy that was on original hdd. Is the original hdd truely dead or just faulty?

The key is valid for the version of Vista that was shipped with the laptop and remains valid for that laptop . It doesnt die with the hard drive ...

OP , you'll need an appropriate instal disc for your brand of laptop . What brand of laptop and version of Vista is it ?

Binds to the Motherboard in most cases, and/or the MAC address.
