i was on a foundation course and applied to continue on to next year i did the interview and was turned down ( i was very surprised to say the least ) i then contacted the collage to find out were i went wrong .they informed me that i would have to discuss this with my tutor and i could do this over the phone (no prob so far )i contacted my tutor asking were did i go wrong , she then started along the lines of i dont have to answer to you and so on . i was highly
disappointed. So I wrote a letter to the head of the department who passed it on to the Head of the College. Letter returned to by self with a feable excuse and very poorly written. I received my exam results today and one subject which was marked by said tutor ..... marked me with a PASS... with a previous discussion of being very well written and beyond what was required.... VERY DISAPPOINTED>.....

Has this ever happened to anyone else.....

Ok, first things first, go through the appeals process for your results.

Re the progression to the next year - is this a continuation of your current course or a new course ? If you are continuing then unless it is stated somewhere that you need to get X marks etc then you should be able to continue. Best approach is to contact the College Principal again and seek a reason - do this in writing. If you are not happy with the answer then seek a copy of their admissions procedures and the appeal process. In reality they can not turn you down based on an interview unless there is a clear and transparent process and a policy that they are following. Document everything.

It is very unlikely that your mark was changed as marks had to be submitted around the same time that you did the interview, and by that time they would have been on the system and approved by the extern, so it would not have been possible for a teacher to change them.

As Further Ed says, contact the college about the appeal process.
