At the moment I'm using a Raleigh hand-me-down I got for nothing from a work colleague. It's doing me the finest at the moment as I'm only doing fairly short distances to get me started.

I'd eventually love to be posting a thread here looking for advice on the best bike to buy for a grand like loads of others do but it's just not possible at the moment.

    So my question....

If money was no object what would be at the top of your shopping list?

A personal mechanic - always on call to clean, lube, and generally polish my bike after every ride. Checking tyres for tiny bits of glass, truing the wheels and picking crap out of the brakepads, drying it after the rain, and disassembling it to give a thorough clean every night. Basically all the crap I'm always too tired to do after a spin :D

I think I'd enjoy that more than a 10 grand wonder machine which was perennially dirty and clicking.
