Job Opportunies in Digital Marketing?

    Hi Guys,

So as you can see I'm a new poster to boards but longtime observer. Basically I completed a degree in business specializing in marketing in NUIG. I had a module particularly on digital marketing & e marketing. In College, I've learned all the theory but haven't had enough practical experience.

As far as I can see, there are great opportunities to in Digital Marketing especially in SEO roles. But not really any graduate roles, most require 1 year - 3 years experience. I am debating doing a year long diploma in Digital Marketing or an internship.

I've been offered a 3 month internship in a Digital Marketing role which is not paid. One of my lecturers organised the interview & the role would allow me to get good experience in PPC, SEO and other digital marketing areas such as Social Media & Analytic's.

I'm really unsure about which option to choose. Would 3 months of digital marketing give me enough experience to apply for jobs which usually require 1 year experience.

    Thanks in advance! :D

Take the internship (although would be better if they were paying you even a token amount). You will learn loads and get stuck in - digital marketing is all about learning on the job and doing it, not doing courses (although they have their place).

    Good luck!

Ya exactly thats what I was thinking. Hopefully I can learn alot from this internship. The fact that its not paid makes it more of a motivation to work harder & learn as much as I can. After 3 Months I want to feel as if it was worth it.

Learning takes time so working in 3 months. If you are looking for experience and you don't need money to be working then this experience is gonna be your stepping stone.

Have you looked at doing an internship with a company who gives training courses?

Perhaps they could send you on one of their own courses for free, if they're not going to pay you..
