Is a passport essential for Travel to England from Ireland or will any other offical photo ID do?

Free travel within the EU zone and all that.

    Cheers

You could get the Ferry to Holyhead, then the train to London but not sure how long it would take. But you'd only need your drivers license as ID

    Hi guys,

I am looking for similar information on this.
I am looking to travel to the UK this month but my girlfriend has not yet received her passport and more than likely will not recieve it before either.
So will she require a passport when travelling from Ireland to the UK?
    Any help will be appreciated.

    Thanks.

    nope.
If she is Irish or British then she doesnt need a passport to travel to the UK by boat, same as you can goto the heartland of the UK - like say Newry or Strabane - by car or bus without a passport.
