    Hi All,

Just wondering, what is the average award handed out by the EAT?

There's no average number as it depends on many factors including what legislation you're claiming under and what your salary is (there are many more variables than that involved though).

For example, for unfair dismissal, you would generally get your weeks wages for as many weeks as you've been out of work. e.g. if it took ten weeks to find alternative employment, you will generally get an award of ten weeks wages (presuming you can prove mitigation of your loss) but your own conduct in the dismissal may reduce that amount. That doesn't include the fact that there may be other claims arising out of such a dismissal (e.g. minimum notice).

Long story short, there's no average award.
