Did anyone else see that race yesterday.

One of the worst cases of a non trier I've seen in a long time.
ATR showed the head on and the horse just never came off the bridle.
Have a look at the race on ATR.

It was weak on betfair before the race aswell as in the ring.

The stewerds looked at it and gave the jockey a "severe caution".
    No action against the trainer.

Some trainers in this country are above the law and the stewards here are just a joke.

I hate when this happens, my advice would be to watch out for this horses next race, the bigger price seems to make some horses run better
Horse racing is becoming a joke now

I was told to back him the 3 times he won well a tip from somebody who has connections. Yesterday the word was to stay away from him. If i hear anything next time our i will post it up. But yes it is disgraceful.

Nuts tipping us about the winner next time too would be nice :P rarely would I back a Martin horse and there'd have to have been money for it for me to back it

I know i will in future got word for horse in the 5.05 i posted it in the tips thread il copy and paste it here. Not from the same person so upto yourself. A friend sent it on not sure where he got, i dont like backing tips like that so only a sneaky fiver on it to play around with the soccer matches if it wins.
Got word for blue shirt lilly 5.05 in Worcester. Says on paper poor on 2 starts interesting irish raider market support would be significant. Opened 20/1 best price 7/1 if shop around got 6/1 in Terry Rogers as low as 9/2 in Boyle's never heard of the jockey trainer combination. Could be just e/w money but was told should run a big race so a sneaky fiver on him at 6/1 hopefully he wins.

Lads, I gave up betting in Irish handicaps years ago and my wallet is much better off for it. I only bet in Group races in Ireland or Graded races in the National Hunt. I don't trust any Irish trainer when it comes to handicaps in Ireland. This was confirmed for me a few years back when a well-known person in Irish racing stated publicly that "you can't blame trainers for stopping horses".

Everyone knows who the bent ones are in irish racing and they need to sort it out. Fair enough that some or the younger stipes wont do Ruby when he does jobs for Martin but could have easily gave D. O'Conner a good ban instead of a caution for that. Love Irish racing but hate these bad apples.

The only way to deal with it is to take away their licences. As you said, we all know who the bent ones are but the problem with this country is that we have the "cute hoor" mentality which allows the cheats to get away with it time and time again at the expense of the punters.

didn't want to mention this in the gambling thread given i thought
id be accused of talking through my pocket but i thought it was
only a matter of collecting when the first leg of my double came
up with uncle taffy left to run
only relieved taffy was too short to have a decent bet on.
A caution only for that is laughable
martin said in the sun "maybe it was just too quick after sunday. ruby made him
look like he had more in hand than he did then"
    laughable indeed :pac:

I'd just add that the horse was examined by the vet afterwards and found to be distressed. Hardly to be expected if he had such an easy race?

    A fairly predictable outcome tho.

I would bet the horse did'nt eat up the next day either.

Did you see the race winning ways?

Really? Do they not ask the vet to check the horse for this before they bring in the trainer and jockey? No enquiry would have taken place if the horse was lame or distressed after the race?

Not half as distressed as the punters who backed it. ;)

No I didn't. Must have a look. Why do you say it's a fairly predictable outcome? Are you suggesting the horse was not right before the race and they knew it? Then why would O'Connor have needed to be so easy on him if the engine was bust before the race? I don't know the answer but i thought it was worth pointing out the horse had an excuse for running badly. That is completely separate to how it was ridden which I can't comment on as I haven't seen the race.
