    Hey everyone,

Anyone point me in the direction of some running programs? I would rather use threadmill in gym because its easier to cheat yourself outdoors with regards to speed etc.

I've been doing alot of 10k recently on a cross country profile on threadmills, to replicate being outdoors with the incline going up and down, but thats becoming a bit boring and its was really only for weight control and with it near being Championship season I want to work on sharpness alot more.

I'd like something that incorporates short sprints because its for football, but I'm thinking about bringing in some high tempo 5k runs (Doing some reading recently on AFL conditioning).

If anybody has anything of use feel free to point me in right direction;)

"Good on you" to paraphase from the AFL language... If i was to give you one piece of advice with regard to sharping for the coming championship would be to get off the treadmill asap.
I'm looking after a couple of senior clubs(speed/fitness coach) at the moment and if I knew any of the guys are doing sessions on threadmills I'd have strong words with them, recipe for an injury.
Listen the treadmill serves a function(within a confind place). Your base is done no doubt, drop the distance, keep up the tempo's(3-5km),and increase your sprint work (20-40mts) walk back recovery.. best of Luck

Hey, thanks for the reply, I will get onto that - Pretty lucky that a school close to me has a running track etc. Will get onto that and thanks again.
