Hiaces do astronomic mileages (old ones anyway). The ones we use to have would do 300,000 no problem. You will be able to get Classic Insurance and may be able to get special tax for a camper if it fulfills the criteria. It will need an NCT though (you say MoT, does that mean it isnt Irish Reg?

Look at it this way it's just a little more then 5,000 per year. Mileage is a silly thing to be worrying about on a 1985 vehicle, it's condition now is the most importan thing, many of it's miles were done 2 decades ago. If it was maintained well, and you continued to do so, it will fare better than one with 50,000 miles which saw nothing but abuse and neglect for sure.

Our vans saw plenty of abuse and still kept going. Should be a fairly safe bet.
