I have a mini Cooper 52 plate with faulty central locking, u can't open the doors with the fob, you have to use the key, the fob does open the boot, you can also lock and set the alarm from the fob, I'm guessing it's a faulty motor, ?, is there any simple test I can try, also if it turns out to be a motor problem does anyone know of a Cooper expert in the Westmidlands that is trusted

It'll just be a faulty lock actuator. I've replaced loads down through the years. This is an Irish forum though, not many people will be able to recommend a UK MINI specialist. You could try the back of Modern MINI Magazine, or register on totalMINI.com

Paintdoctor, cheers for that, guessed it might be but was hoping for the best, didn't realise it was an Irish forum sorry, I guess the boards IE gives it away.
