Sisters Mortgage Supliment stopped by CWO

My sisters mortgage interest suppliment was suddenly stopped last week.

According to my sister and what she has told me this morning,the CWO rang her to notify her of this.

My sister is on long term disability benifit of 190 euro per week,and she also started to recieve a weekly payment to her bank account,last week,as part of her old employeers pension scheme that she was able to take on herself due to her leaving her job because of illness.

The CWO told my sister that she had a letter from the Insurance company confirming weekly pension benifit payment to her bank account.

So my sister is currently getting the SW dissability benifit of 190 euro and her pension payment of 180 euro per week.

Is she still entitled to any mortgage interest supliment at all,or was the CWO right to stop it??

I'd say a single person getting €370pw might be in excess of the means. MIS is only for those who cannot afford to pay mortgage interest from their own resources. Read up on it at welfare.ie
