Hey all, I've searched the WIT forum but can't seem to find anything about this course.
Looking to go back to college in Sept and have applied for this, anyone doing it have any information on the workload, subjects, lecturers, etc...

Also, I didn't do Business in school is that a big problem?

Thanks in advance for any replies :)

Thank you so much for taking the time to act like an a**hole, I hope that made your night. Yours is the obnoxious attitude that many people in Waterford have and I grew up here so don't think you've shocked me.

Please let me clarify, I am looking for a current or former students perspective anybody can Google as "Eroticplants" kindly demonstrated.

From what I can gather this is a newish course used to be BA in Finance or something along those lines

I did the Bacelor of Business Studies course out there about 9 years ago and can tell you when I did it you do not need any prior knowledge as they start from the beginning in all discilpines so same would apply with this course. I will say also having an interest in the area is vital or otherwise you just won't want to put the effort in.
Also as with every course it is hard work, you do have to put alot of time and dedication into it & also it involves alot of independent studying and reading of other material which would also apply to your course.

Also as it is the Business Dept I presume there is overlap of lecturers between the different courses and any of the finance lectures I had on the BBS courses were excellent.

Subjects on the course will probably include economics both micro and macro, accounting, business communications, tax, business law. Try the WIT website where they always give a courses breakdown. Should be in the undergraduate course list under business dept.

Sorry I cannot be more helpful but hope the above gives you some guidance.

Thanks for your reply, really helpful :)

Yeah I'm very interested in the area and my boyfriend is an accountant so I'll have plenty of assistance if I find anything difficult.
The last course I did was pretty intense with around 6 written and 4 practical exams along with mid-terms per semester so I'm not shy of hard work haha!

I saw the website before I applied but it would be nice to talk to someone who has done it, oh well will just have to wait and see! :)

    Thanks again!

    My first post..........

I just finished first year in this course, it's a good course in my view.
Personally, I think it's harder than business, but they are both useful.
the subject in first year: math(really easy.....), statistic(much easier..), financial accounting(little bit hard...), microeconomic, IT(word/excel/access), written skill, business law, financial management, business finance(my favourite one...).
First year is really easy (didn't do business in school is not a problem, trust me), but the second year is really tough and tricky....... the third year is ok...I hope u enjoy your first year~~ good luck:D:D:D
