Group C/D or wideband aerial pointed at Monaghan transmitter (Corcaghan direction).
A smallish 'contract' aerial or a log periodic should be fine at that location if you can mount it in a decent high up, clutter-free position.

In the Diamond, the main issue will be getting the aerial to a place where there's no taller buildings in the direction of Corcaghan/Newbliss. A group C/D or wideband aerial would be any aerial that's worked well for picking up TG4 from either Monaghan or Clermont Carn near Dundalk. (TV3 comes from Dundalk too). So asking for an aerial for TG4 in some local electrical wholesaler should work, and the DIY warehouses sell basic wideband aerial kits too. I don't think there is any large DIY warehouse outlet of the likes of Arro in Monaghan anymore but Aldi have sold similar kits recently if that helps.

If you have no TV3 but do have TG4 in Monaghan then you should already have the right aerial pointing the right way.

Where exactly is the transmitter in Monaghan? I get my saorview signal from Cairn Hill in Longford but recently when I retune the television the signal from Monaghan is tuned in as well as the signal from Cairn Hill even though the aerial is facing south towards Cairn Hill.

    I am in Mid Tyrone.

Aren't you aware of the coverage map at this stage?

I see from the coverage map that the transmitter is in North Monaghan. When I click on the icon it just says Monaghan. It does not give the nearest town or village. Probably in the Emyvale area.

Zoom in on the map, it's to the southwest of Monaghan town, in between the Cootehill & Newbliss roads.

I didn't realise that you can zoom in on the map. I can now get the exact position of the transmitter.

    Thanks for pointing this out.
