NCT smoke test on Mondeo tdci

Just put my mondeo through the nct recently, and was looking at the nct pass report.

Everything was ok, and the car passed, but only just. Smoke limit was 3.00, mine was 2.97!!

The car was cold when leaving it into the test centre, and engine oil temp was 59C when test was conducted.

The car has always had a tendancy to smoke when putting the shoe down when overtaking, but there never been any problems with power delivery or running. The car has 97k miles on it, its a 05 tdci 130bhp model, and has always been serviced on time with oil changes and air filters, etc..

Anyone any pointers - egr valve full of crud? or is there somewhere else I should look at?
