Canon 7D needs repairing

    Hi folks,

    I need to get a Canon 7D repaired, has anyone any suggestions. Its out of warranty. I'm living in Waterford but I'm up and down to Dublin & Kildare regularly.

    Any suggestions greatly appreciated!

    I can vouch for Zerohamster. He did a fantastic job fixing the SD card slot on my 60D.

    Hi John

    A piece broke off the SD card and that was blocking access to the mechanism

    How long ago did you buy your 7D? if you bought it in Ireland it might still be in warranty, even if it is outside the 1 or 2 year warranty the shop claims it has.
    In Ireland you have no fixed warranty period, but a more flexible one of , depending on the usual lifetime of a product (limited to 6 years by the status of limitation). Especially with a camera as expensive as the 7D, you have a good chance that a judge will still see is as in warranty.
    So go to the shop you bought it from and get them to repair it (if it wasn't damaged by you). If they refuse, go to the small claims court. Costs you only 15€ and if the camera is defective and not damaged by you, you have a good chance to win your case.
