how to play mkv files on ps3?

    anyone know how to do this without having to convert files or stream directly from pc?

    I use Ps3 Media server without a hitch, great piece of software. Make sure your Nat type is 2 or 3 though.

    Im running cfw and use Showtime to play mkv files directly on the PS3.

    Same here.....are you having any issues with ShowTime at the moment? I keep getting the message "Unhandled HTTP Response 403" whenever I try to play anything through the YouTube plugin in ShowTime!? I can play files fine directly from the internal PS3 HDD.

    Has anyone else had this issue?

    Wish I had your problem. Someone updated my ps3 to latest firmware. No way back. Haven't turned it on since!
