My daughter beat me up (Galway/medical card/dentists?)

My daughter accidentally knocked the cap off of my front tooth yesterday while we were playing (through a perfectly aimed headbutt), and I need to get this looked at. Does anyone with recent experience know where I might stand with HSE and dental work through my medical card? I do understand that available services were drastically reduced in 2010 as a cost-saving measure.

Do I need to contact the HSE (Shantalla) and get authorization for dental work?
Should I directly contact dentists in the city and talk to them?

You are entitled to 2 fillings per calendar year, a check-up every 12 months and as many extractions as you want.
You'll have to go through your dentist for any authorisation for anything extra.
If it's cosmetic, you won't get authorisation tbh.

if I am correct.Used them before and they are very good, zero pain from the procedure, they do take medical card applications as the person in front of me was filling out his form and told me he was getting an extraction for free as he was in real pain.Think anything cosmetic is not covered, best look into prices up north if its a crown you will need as I suspect as caps are generally short term solutions.
