    Hi,

I'm sorry to hear that you wish to port away from blueface as I use them without a problem, and would never even consider changing providers. Why do you want to move over?
Okay, anyways, I haven't ever ported away my number from blueface, but it shouldn't be a problem. AFAIK you can only port a Geographic number (eg 01 etc) easily to UPC and you can't port a Blueface extension (begins with 3xxxx) to another provider. Blueface will be able to provide you with all the necessary account numbers etc. to port to UPC.

Unless Arron or GuillaumeBF is here to help you, I suggest you contact Blueface as there really isn't much we can do here on the forum.

    Good luck and HTH.

Edit: I just googled for Blueface, you can get them on bf extension 3000 or 015242000. Support@blueface.ie

I do not work for blueface.

I have had no problem with blueface its just that i got a good deal adding phone to my package on UPC.I have been on to blueface technical and they say there is no problem porting over a geographic number. Got on to another girl at UPC who put me on hold to talk to a senior person about this.Seems UPC use a slightly different system so another geographic number from a voip company won't work on their system.

It shouldnt be a problem, as you can port eircom (which is a landline) to voip. You will really need to contact UPC again regarding this. It should work as UPC is a voip company aswell.

By the way the Blueface set up I did is going great.

However I got an IP phone I did not realise you could get an ATA router and use any phone you wanted with the service DUH.:D

I assume with an ATA router you can just go to Argos and get any set of cordless phones you want?

Pretty much. But oft times you need that dongle thing that converts UK RJ-11 to rest-of-world RJ-11. I believe Argos have that issue down however.

To be honest in my opinion, the UK sockets are crazy!
Most ATA's will give you a RJ11 plug which is what we use in Ireland and in many other countries. This would be assumed to be rj11 and its detailed on the box of the ata usually.

Therefore, you can connect any traditional phone that has an RJ11 plug at the back.

RJ11 plugs are a lot easier to work with compared with the UK plugs.

    HTH.

I agree. And I have a tough taskmaster, namely the Ma. She spends most of her time in the kitchen, in your typical post-war semi-d with cooker, kettle and every other device that produces condensation. Almost invariably, flaky phone connections are down to that loose connection that seems to attract moisture and nothing but crackling on the line. It's been dried, taped over more times than I can remember.

I bought her a Siemens cordless DECT. :-)

No problem, that's what were here for :)
Glad to hear that you got your number ported eventually. I think we need to fully move to another provider, as blueface is down a lot now and it is very annoying and bad for business (for us anyways)
