i have gotten a few quotes for my garage that needs fascia, soffit and gutters.
i am looking for white pvc as that is what is on the house.
i have gotten a couple of quote and all are very different in price.
i was wondering what questions should i be asking to ensure i pick the best company and also, what should i telling them\looking out for to ensure the job is top class?

p.s some of the quotes include aluminium downpipes while others are pvc. not too sure if there is much difference? is there any real difference?

Most of these companies would be a good while around. Check with them to see have they done any work close to you and go have a look at it and maybe havea chat with the householder.
There can be some variations like you say on downpipe. At the end of the day you hold the purse strings and can satisfy yourself to the quality. These companies would have a good reputation, you should ask them for references close to you

Have a good look at the condition of the existing fascia, if its old it could be rotten in places,

This should be re placed before fitting any PVC fascia and soffit as its just covering this problem.

As regards the difference in prices ask about previous work done etc.

White pvc downpipe is fine imo. The aluminium is only necessary in certain designs of buildings. One thing to know, is the bracket spacings, it can be fine when done at first, but over time it will sag. Maybe ask them what spacings they leave, and if you have it in writing you will be covered if they dont do it
