I am looking at buying a pedelec and wondering does anybody have any long term experience with them?
I had one for a few days and it worked fine but I am wondering how long it will last and how the battery holds up. I am looking at the cie-bikes as they seem to be a decent price. There are obviously more expensive ones.

Can't claim any experience of them, but would ask if you are fit and healthy? If so, why not go for a proper bike? It will do you far more good in the long term, and if the experience of pretty much every regular on the forum is anything to go by, you'll almost certainly like it

I was going to put in a comment about why I want this as my form of transport but felt I'd give the benefit of the doubt. I cycle but it is not viable for work due to being sweaty suffice to say I have made my choice. I am looking for peoples' experience rather than people who haven't used them and their opinion.

A friend of mine has been using one daily for the last two years and the battery is still holding a charge but is now starting to degrade. The cost of a new battery is about €300 for his Chinese model so maybe checking the price of a replacement for whichever model you are looking at would be wise.

He loves it and has said, "It beats sawing the bollix off yourself".
