    Hi.

How do you actually set the galaxy s2 or android in general to silent? I have the volume all the way down but email, texts and other notifications still play.

Turning the volume down should work though. Do you get a little vibration icon or a speaker with an X beside it in the menu bar (and a popup onscreen as you're turning down the volume)?

Ye I get a "ringer volume" pop up with a vibration picture and an actual vibration and it shows up in the menu bar.

On my g1, when it was turned all the way down ie. in vibration mode that was equivalent to silent mode.

"all sounds except media are silenced" in the settings too.

So I have to explicitly put it in silent mode? Would explicitly putting it in silent mode silence the media too? For example pop ups or other sounds in the browser and games etc.
