Sold my iPhone 3g for €92, and thought grand, €1.50 charges isn't too bad. Now, around 10 days later, they want €10.59 more as a final valuation fee. If I was to refund the buyer, and cancel the transaction, then he sends me the money outside of eBay, would I be off the hook? €12 in fee's is INSANE!!!

I've just been on chat to a person on eBay, after telling them I couldn't pay, they just ended the chat session?

The buyer would be crazy to accept such terms, and as the seller, you would be crazy to try it. Either party could easily scam the other, and actually from a buyer's point of view, it would scream scam seller to me.

If the buyer were to accept your terms, they would want a discount off the price, which would negate your saving on the fees anyway.

Don't forget you also have the Paypal fee of 3.4% + 35c on the payment received too!

Okay so, I think I'll just forget about it until I get some more money in paypal.

Yes, right now it is free.
Maybe that will change in the future, maybe it will not - I'm unaware of any publication that say adverts will not be free to use in the foreseeable future, if you have some additional knowledge on the topic would you be able to share it?
