    Hi,

I'm not really PC familiar, im used to working on apple mac.

Of the above processors in the subject which is better? I need a PC laptop for various software that won't work on my mac. Is the dual-core processor better?

I'm looking into this Intel Pentium Dual-Core or this Core i3 laptop.

    Info would be appreciated, thanks.

In short, the core i3 will be much quicker. They are both dual core, for the record. Actually, they are both based on the same architecture, just the core i3 runs faster and has a few extra features.

    In general, Celeron < Pentium < Core i3 < Core i5 < Core i7

And I would think this is a better deal than either of those two

But I definitely agree, i3 is way better.

Maybe im thinking of the i5 and i7 but doesnt the i3 also handle hyperthreading? Basically 2 physical cores, but 4 logical. As far as the OS is concerned, it's a Quad Core. Functionally it's a Dual Core, but often far more efficient.
