Hi all, I have a feeling I'll be posting a lot in this thread with my wedding fears. Got engaged yesterday (:)) but the ring doesn't fit (:() We need to get it made smaller. Does anyone know of anywhere in Dublin that will do this for a reasonable amount and in a short enough space of time? Some people have been saying it'll take 2 weeks to get back

I know when we went looking at rings, any that were one-off's would take 2 weeks to get back in the right size, so seems to kinda be the standard wait time.
Could always chance bringing it back to where it was bought, they sometimes have 2 or 3 different sizes of a ring.

It was designed by my boyfriend so unfortunately it's a once off. We'll more than likely take it back to be on the safe side but it's just awkward as it was bought in Belfast. I was hoping for a week at most as we're going away on holiday so I'd like to have it for then. If not so be it I guess. Thanks.

If you're in Dublin, fast fix in Dundrum shopping centre resize all types of rings and have a jeweler on site so it's done in a few hours or overnight.

The price depends on how many sizes and the type of ring I'm afraid so they'll have to see it probably to give you a quote.

    Btw- congrats!!!

And make sure when they resize it they check the settings for the main diamonds, some get loose during resizing!

I would definitely recommend Martin Gear on Dorset St. the shop isn't the most glamourous looking on the outside but he is a proper jeweller and does a great job - think this would be done on site so would be much quicker. he is very reasonably priced aswell.

Thanks guys. I think we're going with Voltaire Diamonds. It's a bit of a complicated ring with diamonds on the double bands so some places were a bit nervous about touching it. I've read good things on Boards about them so hopefully things will work out okay.

you could probably send it up to belfast with registered post. the jeweler would be able to cover it on their insurance. for insurance purposes also, i'd have the jeweler who made it, alter it. if a diamond falls out, and you go back to them, they might be pee'd that you went to someone else. we sent ours to antwerp when we had a problem with ours, it was no problem.
