I recently purchased a pack of red henna.. has anyone ever dyed their hair with it before? I really want to try it but afraid of what'd happen if it turned out wrong! I heard that you can't used chemical dyes over it....

I've used the solid blocks of henna before, and it gave a subtle enough colour that was most noticeable in sunlight. My hair's a kind of chestnut brown with some auburn through it, so the really red henna faded a bit ginger (not the nice ginger, carrot-top ginger) but the purple/red henna looked much nicer!

You definitely can't use chemical dye over it, but if you hate how it turns out you can put brown henna over the red and wait for it to grow out. That's how I got over the ginger debacle...
