JSA Means Test Criteria

Hi, I'm looking for some advice please. I'm 28years old and I moved into a house with my GF 3 months ago. My JSA means test form was sent to me in the mean time and I applied stating I lived with her and was renting. I subsequently found out off a few people that I was going to be denied my JSA as she is working. I got a call from the SW and asked them where I stood, the woman said that I wouldn't be getting anything due to my GF working! Unbelievable!!! So I have been left no choice but to move back to my previous address where my father lives. Will I be in the same situation as he is working?? How can I insure I get my JSA?? The whole system seems mental, I have to pay e50 p/w to live in my fathers house now that I'm home. Do they take into account whoever you live with regardless of your relationship with them? How is it possible to get you're means test passed? Its just I'm literally penniless without the dole and I'm starting to get a little freaked out by the whole thing!

    Any advice appreciated,
    cheers

because your 28 your fathers means will not be taken into account if you move back home. so if you have no other means, you will probably get the full amount of JSA €188. you have to understand that when you lived with your girlfriend in a family unit type situation you were considered to be at least partially responsible for each other. i mean, say a traditional family stuation were the dad is at work and mam stays home doing housework etc. Would you expect the mam to get JSA or would you say her husband was responsible for her? its the same thing really. your girlfriend had enough income to pay the rent/mortgage buy groceries pay ESB etc. before you lived together, why should the household get €188 more from the State just because youve moved in. its different when your at your dads. your 28 now. hes not responsible for you any more. hes done his bit with you already. your dad is right to ask you for€50, imo. you have to pay for your share of utilities, bins ESB etc.
