Going to begin writing this and anything you think should be added please drop me a PM on boards or in game and I will add it and provide a reference.

A message from R0ot and the Irish Eve Online Community.
Firstly let me welcome you to Eve which could be the best or worst experience you will ever have in an MMO. Now this may force you to delete the game right now but then you wouldn't know if you like the game or not. Don't base it on my opinion, try the game for 21 days for free. (FREE TRIAL THREAD POST FOR A FREE TRIAL INVITE!)

    -Downloading the Eve Client-
http://www.eveonline.com/download/ It's a large download so don't expect to be playing the game very quickly.

    -Tutorial-
You may be one of these people that skips over the tutorials of games as you have played so many well here is a reality check for you; Eve is not like other games and you have zero idea what you are doing in this game so do the tutorial, hell do it twice to make sure it sinks in!

    -What Next?-
Really Eve is pretty sparse in what you want to do and how you can go about doing it. What you go and do next is really done to you or the group you are with. After 1 month in game or immediately after you being paying for the game I would recommend joining and alliance even if it is just Eve University where you can learn an enormous amount of things.

My best advice at this point in terms of what you are going to train for skills is pick a ship like a cruiser or battlecruiser and aim for the skills you need to fly that, not sure of a fitting? Just ask in the Irish room or here or the eve forums for help. Be sure to specify what you want to do with the ship.

A good guide to read (a little out of date as the newest printed version has been released) very long but useful!

-What you need to participate in a gang/fleet-
Primarily when you are a young player your main usefulness in a gang will be tackling other ships, this involves stopping said ship(s) from running away or slowing them down. Below is what you need to train at a minimum to be able to use these mods.

    Warp Disruptor I
    Stasis Webifier I
    Warp Scrambler I

    -Propulsion Jamming Level I
    -Electronics Level III
    -Navigation Level II
