We are due to open a new premises later in the year in a mixed area of office developments and apartments. We can advertise to the businesses easily enough but what I was wondering is whats the best way to hit the apartments, We cant get access to the post boxes so were thinking would An Post drop flyers into each mail box along with the post or do they have a certain minimum for mail drops. Would be also interested to hear if anyone has done anything else to get at gated/secured developments

Hang around until someone walks out. Nowhere is so secure that you can't get in eventually

I lived in an apartment block which was secured. We still managed to get spammed by unwanted junk mail. I'm pretty sure An Post were aiding in this process.

Please note the use of the words "spammed", "unwanted" & "junk" in the previous sentence.

Were concious that it will be seen as spam but the service we offer isnt offered locally and a good few people in the surrounding blocks may use us. We normally do flyers to houses and open apartment/flat complexes ourselves and have never used an post or direct mailing before. As for the hanging around till someone comes out thing theres always one busy body around who,ll cause a huge fuss as if they just stoped a major jewel heist and have the police down in two minutes

probably because they don't appricate junk mail!
That said, I understand it's probably the cheapest advertising option available and times are hard...

Junk mail doesn't even make it in to my apartment, it's plonked in to the bin where the mail box is located.

Please dont, nobody likes junk mail. Theres a directory called the Golden Pages, or theres google. I put it straight into the recycle bin.

An Post have areas that deliver to, you can see them online and get a quote. Issue I had was that the area to be targeted did not match An Post designated areas so you may need to deliver to places that you don't want to due to An Post area designation.

If you service is of sufficiently high value and you want to target the mail shot, posting the information may be the most effective.
