“As a consequence of Mr Warner’s self-determined resignation, all Ethics Committee procedures against him have been closed and the presumption of innocence is maintained.”

Ie. He was found guilty and this would tarnish Fifa's name the least.

    Well played again, Sep.

    Got to love FIFA.

I cam imagine there was a nice golden hand shake for this somewhere along the lines.

I wonder how many individual football associations it would take to "Overthrow" FIFA.

Surely if England, Spain, France, Italy, Germany, Brazil, Argentina and a few more started their own version of FIFA and boycotted the world cup it would snowball and an alternative to FIFA could happen.

It is beyond a joke at this stage, it is just a bunch of power/money hungry old men who couldn't care less about football.

(Although the same could also be said of the English FA)

I don't think it's fair to say that about the FA at all. The FA administrates grass-roots football and coaching in England. It's not a 'not-for-profit' organisations with more money in its bank accounts than most countries do.

I don't think there is a huge groundswell of opinion against FIFA in the FAs of most those countries you selected. The apoplectic nature of the FA and English media during the recent FIFA Congress wasn't quite shared by the rest of the world. Even the more memorable press conferences seemed to be a succession of English language questions from The Observer, The Times, The Telegraph etc, with the odd question from an Aussie or American reporter.

Looking at your list I'd say 4 of those countries would be steadfast behind current FIFA, and 2 more wouldn't make a move unless it would be guaranteed success.

I'd say you are right. It was a bit of a slap in the face for the FA when they proposed postponing the FIFA elections and only a few associations supported them.

I see one of three possibilities here.

    1) FIFA is not corrupt and the endless string of well supported documentaries against them is nothing but a slur.
    2) A large number of football associations believe FIFA to be honest
    3) A large number of associations either don't care/are corrupt themselves or are scared of FIFA.

Expecting heads of federations to vote against FIFA if it is corrupt would be like asking turkeys to vote for Christmas.
