    Hi,

Well after watching the US open and congrats to Rory, my self and the other half taught it would be fun to go to a driving range fir something to do.

Only issue is neither of us have clubs and just wondering can anyone suggest anywhere in Dublin that you can rent the clubs for the hour or so for the two of us.

Any help would be great thanks

Would be helpful to know what part of Dublin you are in so people can suggest ranges near you!!

It can be any part of Dublin as we can drive to it that's why I didn't say a specific part, but I am based in south Dublin but we can travel

If it's South Dublin then Greystones Driving Range does free club hire!
They also do lessons and video feedback etc.!

P.S. Not connected... Just a satisfied customer :-)

Personally speaking, I'd say goto a pitch n putt course where you can rent out clubs. There's one next to Johnnie Fox's Pub: http://www.williefoxgolf.com/faqs.php

Note: there's a pub next to it with some sort of shuttle bus back to Dublin, so you could make a day & night of it  Have done the pitch n putt course there, and found it to pretty good (compared to a few of the smaller 3-par courses that I've been to).

If you like it, look around for deals for a set of clubs. Get maybe a few clubs, and practise with them. I say this as I find it better to practise with the same clubs every time, rather than starting with a new set every time. That, and if you get good, you'll be able to goto some 3 pars, and then onto the larger golf courses.

I say pitch n putt first, and then driving range, as the driving range can be boring if you have no goal (50 balls later, and you could be well bored), whereas the pitch n putt has a goal (on every hole :P) and then when you goto the driving range, you'll have more of a goal.

    Best of luck :D

Oh, and if you do get into it, look for golf classes in your local schools that do night courses in September - it works out cheap enough, and you'll learn lots.
