    Hi,

Currently trying to sell my car and I have somebody coming to view it tomorrow.

Might be a daft question but if he wants to buy it from me - what documentation etc. do I need?

    Thanks

After the VLC/log book has been signed and the new sellers address added to it you (the seller) send it to Shannon. Don't give it to the buyer directly.

    http://www.environ.ie/en/LocalGovernment/MotorTax/ChangeofOwnership/
Change in Ownership for post 1993 vehicles:
Send the following to the Driver and Vehicle Licensing Computer Services Division, Shannon Town Centre, Co. Clare. (Phone: +353 (0)61 365 000 or **Lo-Call 1890-411412):
If sold privately, complete part b of the vehicle licensing certificate or the registration certificate for post-April 2004 vehicles.

Yup, All you gotta do is get him to sign it and you post it off. simples! :)

He might ask for a receipt, so just type or write something up just in case.

Make sure you get cash or a Real Bank draft first. Don't handover Vlc get him to sign and you send it, no excuses to hand it over.

There is one excuse to hand it over - if buyer is not resident in Ireland, and is buying a car for export, then you have to hand it over to him.
